Deck 01 // The Phone App
Invisible. Reactive. Ready when you are.
NEONFLUX is a combined Wear OS and Android experience that harnesses movement and haptic playback to assist with grounding and regulation.
It's built around two distinct decks, each serving a specific regulatory function:
- Reactive Feedback [Reactor Deck]: for active stimming and grounding. It acts as an instrument, translating physical kinetic energy into sensory feedback. See Deck 02.
- Rhythmic Entrainment [Clinical Deck]: for passive focus and regulation. It acts as a precise metronome for the nervous system. See Deck 03.
NeonFlux is an experimental tool. Use responsibly.
// Accessibility
The standard accessibility icon sits in the phone app's header at all times — tap it to open this panel, no hunting required. Smart High Contrast boosts any accent color that isn't already bright enough against the background, rather than swapping in a whole separate palette. Font Scale has two independent sliders: one for the phone's own text, and one that syncs live to the watch.
// Appearance
The palette icon next to Accessibility opens this panel. Pick from four preset color themes, or flip on Monochrome Protocol for a single-hue display with its own HDR intensity and base-color controls. Whatever you choose here pushes live to the watch too.

REACTOR
ACTIVE GROUNDING
The default state on the watch. It turns movement into data you can feel — the CORE ring shown here is battery, not the haptic session itself.
How it works
- The Loop: the watch monitors linear acceleration. When you move (shake, tilt, or flick), that energy is instantly translated into haptic vibration.
- Stealth vs. Audio: by default, the system operates in STEALTH mode (haptics only). Tap
AUDIO: OFFto toggleAUDIO: ON— movement will now generate a rising sci-fi synth tone proportional to your kinetic intensity. - The Mirror: the phone app's Bio-Metric Visualizer (see Mission Control) mirrors your movement in real time, closing the sensory loop between physical input and visual confirmation.
Haptic texture swapping
Double-tap anywhere on the background to hot-swap the feedback texture:
- Pulse: standard linear feedback. Smooth and predictable.
- Geiger: probabilistic clicking, denser as intensity rises. Excellent for fidgeting.
- Throb: heavy, boosted impact (80ms). Best for deep pressure grounding.
Transitioning to Clinical
Rotate the digital crown (or physical bezel) to switch decks — a physical gesture instead of a tap, to prevent accidental mode switches during active use. You'll feel a mechanical click, then the interface slides to Clinical.

CLINICAL
PASSIVE REGULATION
While Reactor is about input, Clinical is about output — a precise, rhythmic haptic beat to help regulate breathing or maintain focus.
Configuration
Programmed from the phone — see Mission Control — before it ever reaches the watch:
- Waveform: Pulse, Geiger, or Throb.
- Frequency: BPM (beats per minute) — 60 BPM is standard for calming.
- Intensity: motor strength.
- Sleep Protocol: forces the watch screen and sensors off during the beat — for meditation or sleep without light pollution.
The sync event

Engagement

initiates, then the haptic engine begins — an absolute-time
drift correction algorithm keeps it from ever "dragging" or
"rushing," staying perfectly on beat for hours.

EMERGENCY PROTOCOL
DISTRACTION & NUMBING OVERRIDE
Not a third deck you switch into — it seizes the watch from whatever Reactor or Clinical was doing, regardless of activity or state, for a fixed duration or indefinitely. The screen shown here is deliberately a retooled version of the Clinical deck's own "[ FIRMWARE UPDATING ]" sync screen — same look, but sticky: it stays up for as long as the override runs, which makes it the definitive on-watch indicator that you're in this mode.
What it's for
A distraction / grounding tool, distinct from the Lockdown Gesture below: sustained, continuous haptic vibration — not a pulse or beat — held at one steady strength for as long as it runs. The idea is a strong, unbroken point of contact to pull focus away from an overwhelming moment, or to lean into localized numbing from constant vibration at the skin.
How it works
- Triggered from the phone: tap
EMERGENCY PROTOCOLon Mission Control, then5MIN,7MIN, orINF(indefinite — gated behind its own risk-acknowledgment screen on the phone before it will start). - Strength: the same
INTENSITYslider used for Clinical, read at the moment you start it — there's no separate dial. - Total takeover: whatever the watch was doing — Reactor mid-motion, a Clinical beat mid-session — stops immediately. Nothing else can interrupt or share the motor while it's engaged, not even a remote command arriving from the phone.
Ending it
- On the watch: tap anywhere on the screen, or press the physical/back button. Deliberately not the two-finger, three-second Lockdown Gesture — coordinating that while under continuous max-strength vibration is an unreasonable ask, so this is a single tap, anywhere, full stop.
- On the phone: the
HALTbutton in the Emergency Protocol menu. - The timer: 5MIN and 7MIN end themselves; INF runs until one of the two HALTs above.
- Graceful return: the watch lands back on standby, on whichever deck was showing before — it never auto-resumes a Clinical beat or a Reactor session on its own.
This is the single most power-hungry, highest-amplitude profile the watch has, run continuously instead of in short pulses — hardware and body concerns both scale with how long it runs.
- Hardware: continuous full-strength vibration draws more power and runs the motor hotter than any other profile. Safe Mode still applies — the watch refuses to start (or run) below 15% battery — but expect faster drain than Reactor or Clinical during an INF session.
- Wetware: sustained vibration at one point of contact can cause temporary numbness, tingling, or skin irritation the longer it runs. Reduced sensation is part of the intended effect in short doses — that's not the same as it being consequence-free over long ones. Take breaks on longer sessions, and stop immediately (tap anywhere) if you notice pain, persistent numbness, or skin redness.
// Safety & Lockdown
SAFEGUARD // LOCKDOWN_PROTOCOL
Two different "emergency" mechanisms live in NeonFlux, on purpose — don't confuse them. The Lockdown Gesture below is a panic-stop: it kills whatever's running, full stop. Emergency Protocol is a distraction/numbing tool you deliberately turn on — see that deck for how to end a session it started.
1. The Curtain (Focus Mode)
While Clinical Mode is running with Sleep Protocol enabled, a "Dark Curtain" fades in — saving OLED screens from burn-in and reducing visual overstimulation. Outside of Sleep Protocol, the deck UI stays up so it's always clear what's running. Use the Lockdown Gesture to stop the session (there's no separate "just peek" wake while Sleep Protocol is active).
2. Lockdown Gesture (Emergency Stop)
If sensation becomes overwhelming or you can't navigate the UI: place two fingers on the screen and hold for 3 seconds. Hard stop. Motors kill, audio cuts, and a confirmation buzz indicates the system is safe.
3. Safe Mode
To protect battery health, the app will refuse to run if the watch battery is below 15%.
4. Exit Dialog
Swiping "Back" triggers a confirmation before it lets you close the app:

- Halt: kill the app and return to the watch face.

INITIALIZATION
PHONE, THEN WATCH
1. Phone setup (Mission Control)
Launch NEONFLUX Mobile.
- The Bio-Metric Visualizer will initially read
AWAITING TELEMETRY— see Mission Control. - Ensure Bluetooth is active. No manual pairing is required; the app uses the Wearable Data Layer to automatically handshake with the nearest node.
2. Watch initialization (the node)
Launch NEONFLUX Wear.
- You'll be greeted by the Reactor deck.
- The central ring displays your CORE status — note that this differs from your device battery meter, as the haptic engine draws power differently depending on the active profile.

PROTOCOL INITIATION
MANUAL OVERRIDE REQUIRED
By enabling "Developer Options" and "USB/Wireless Debugging," you are lowering your device's shields.
- Sideloading risk: installing APKs from unknown sources can expose your device to malicious code. Only install files obtained directly from the official NeonFlux release page.
- Open ports: ADB (Android Debug Bridge) allows external computers to send commands to your device. Always disable USB/Wireless Debugging when you're finished installing NeonFlux.
- Warranty void: while rare, improper use of developer tools can destabilize your device. Proceed at your own risk.
